Our Story

Rooted in Faith. Called to Serve.

Sarah Akons Divine Charity was born from a God-given vision in the heart of our founder, Rev Sarah Akonedo: to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a hurting world.

What began as small acts of kindness — sharing a meal, praying with a neighbour, clothing a child — has grown into a movement of compassion that spans the United Kingdom, Nigeria, and communities beyond. Every project, every donation, every volunteer hour is an act of worship: an offering of love to God and to the people He loves.

We believe that every person is fearfully and wonderfully made, and that no one should be left behind. Whether we are feeding a hungry family, empowering a youth with employable skills, counselling someone through grief, or planting trees to steward the earth, we do it all as unto the Lord — with excellence, integrity, and a joyful heart.

Today, under Rev Sarah's leadership and with an incredible team of trustees, coordinators, volunteers, and partners, we continue to answer the call: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."

How We Serve

Compassion With Structure

Our work is heartfelt, but it is never random. We listen, plan, deliver, and report so every act of kindness becomes meaningful support.

Step 01

Listen First

We pay attention to real community needs before choosing programmes, partners, or resources.

Step 02

Match Support

Donations, volunteers, and partners are matched to the people and projects where they can help most.

Step 03

Deliver With Care

Help is delivered with dignity, prayer, practical excellence, and respect for every person served.

Step 04

Share the Impact

We tell the story of what was done, who was reached, and how support is becoming lasting hope.

Mission & Values

What Drives Us

Every programme we run, every partnership we enter, and every pound we steward is held accountable to these core commitments.

Impactful Focus

We are not here to run programmes for programmes' sake. Every initiative is evaluated by the real, measurable difference it makes in individual lives and whole communities. From the number of families fed, to the youth trained and employed, to the villages provided with clean water — impact is our bottom line. We invest in projects that are sustainable, scalable, and rooted in the actual needs of the people we serve, not trends or headlines.

Transparency & Accountability

Trust is earned through openness. We are committed to radical transparency with every donor, partner, and beneficiary. That means clear reporting, audited finances, visible on-the-ground results, and zero tolerance for mismanagement. Every gift is stewarded with the same care we would want for our own offering. When you give to Sarah Akons Divine Charity, you are not just donating — you are partnering with us, and you deserve to see exactly where and how your generosity is bearing fruit.

Christ-Centred Compassion

Our faith is not a label — it is the reason for everything we do. We serve all people with unconditional love, regardless of background, tribe, or religion, because we believe each one bears the image of God. Every encounter begins with a prayer, is carried out with kindness, and points ultimately to the hope found in Christ. We love because He first loved us.

Community & Collaboration

We do not act alone. Lasting transformation happens when churches, individuals, organisations, governments, and the communities themselves come together. We honour local leadership, listen first, and build long-term relationships — not one-off transactions. Everyone has something to give, and everyone has something to receive.
